The story is set in the year 2024, a time when tensions between North Korea and the United States are at an all-time high. Ahab (played by Ha Jung-woo) is the captain of a private military company (PMC) team, composed of multi-national mercenaries. They are hired by the CIA to carry out a covert mission to infiltrate an underground bunker within the Korean DMZ and capture a high-ranking North Korean official, known only as King. The ultimate objective is to secure King as leverage in ongoing negotiations between North and South Korea, potentially averting a major war.

The film begins with Ahab and his team gearing up for the mission. They operate from a heavily armored bunker, equipped with the latest technology and surveillance equipment. Ahab’s team members are highly skilled and come from various backgrounds, reflecting the international nature of private military operations. The mission, which initially appears to be a straightforward extraction, quickly spirals out of control as they encounter unexpected resistance and unanticipated challenges.

Once inside the DMZ, Ahab’s team makes contact with King, but the situation rapidly deteriorates. They face a well-organized and heavily armed North Korean military force, and it becomes apparent that their mission has been compromised. A firefight breaks out, and Ahab’s team is forced to retreat into an underground bunker to hold their ground. Trapped inside, they realize that they have been left on their own by their employers, who may have had ulterior motives for the mission all along.

Dr. Yoon Ji-eui (played by Lee Sun-kyun) is introduced as a North Korean doctor who becomes an unwilling participant in the chaos. Ahab, initially focused solely on completing the mission and securing King, is forced to reconsider his priorities as he tries to protect Dr. Yoon and the other non-combatants caught in the crossfire. As tensions rise, Ahab must navigate the deteriorating situation while ensuring the safety of his team and civilians.
