Initially, Roy is confused and disoriented by this phenomenon, unsure of how he became stuck in this bizarre loop. But over time, he begins to adapt to the repetitive nature of his existence. He learns the patterns of his assassins and starts memorizing their attacks, outsmarting and killing them in more creative ways each time he restarts the day. Despite the chaos, Roy’s skills sharpen with each new iteration, and he becomes increasingly determined to break free from the loop.

As Roy navigates this cycle of endless death and rebirth, he discovers that the time loop is connected to Colonel Clive Ventor (Mel Gibson), a powerful and dangerous scientist running a secretive government experiment called the Osiris Spindle. The project, which involves manipulating time, is revealed to be the cause of Roy’s predicament. Further complicating matters, Roy learns that his estranged wife, Jemma Wells (Naomi Watts), who was once involved in the project, is deeply connected to the time loop.

Jemma, a brilliant scientist, had a strained relationship with Roy, and their distance is exacerbated by Roy’s guilt over being absent from their son’s life. As Roy begins to piece together the events leading up to his entrapment, he realizes that Jemma may have initiated the time loop in an attempt to save their son from a catastrophic fate. This revelation provides Roy with a new emotional focus, motivating him to not only survive the assassins but also find a way to break the cycle and save his family.

Throughout the film, Roy confronts a variety of eccentric and deadly assassins, each with their own unique skills, such as the sword-wielding Guan Yin (Selina Lo) and sharpshooter Brett (Will Sasso). The film’s action scenes are a mix of high-octane gunfights, martial arts, and darkly comedic moments, as Roy constantly dies, learns from his mistakes, and adjusts his strategies for survival.

As Roy becomes increasingly adept at surviving the day, he uncovers a larger conspiracy involving Ventor’s plans for the Osiris Spindle. He learns that Ventor intends to use the device for catastrophic purposes, threatening to destroy the world if the loop isn’t stopped. With time running out, and the loop growing increasingly unstable, Roy must find a way to defeat Ventor, dismantle the experiment, and prevent a global disaster.
