In April 1945, during the Allies’ advance into Nazi Germany, Don “Wardaddy” Collier commands an M4 Sherman tank named Fury with his crew: Grady, Gordo, Bible, and new recruit Norman Ellison. Inexperienced, Norman struggles with the brutality of war and is forced to kill a German prisoner by Don.
The crew encounters German civilians Irma and her cousin Emma while on a mission, leading to a tense interaction. After the group is called away, German artillery kills Emma.
Fury, along with three other tanks, is ambushed by a Tiger I tank, destroying the other tanks before Fury manages to destroy the Tiger. The tank is immobilized by a mine, and Don orders Norman to scout for enemy troops. Norman discovers a Waffen-SS battalion approaching and warns the crew. Despite the danger, Don insists on defending the tank.
The crew camouflages Fury and fights off German soldiers throughout the night. Grady, Gordo, and Bible are killed in the ensuing battle, leaving only Don and Norman. Don is eventually killed, and Norman hides under the tank. A German soldier discovers him but does not report him.
The next morning, Norman finds Fury surrounded by dead German soldiers and is rescued by American troops. He is hailed as a hero as he is taken away, reflecting on the devastation left behind.
