“Cloud Atlas” (2012) is a film that weaves together six different stories set across various time periods, ranging from the 19th century to a distant post-apocalyptic future. In 2012, a comedic tale follows Timothy Cavendish, a publisher who finds himself trapped in a nightmarish nursing home. The film shifts to 2144 in Neo Seoul, a dystopian future where Sonmi-451, a genetically engineered clone, starts a revolution against an oppressive regime. Finally, the story concludes in a distant, post-apocalyptic Hawaii, where a tribesman named Zachry faces the remnants of a collapsed civilization.
