In 2055, an AI detonates a nuclear warhead over Los Angeles, leading the Western world to seek AI eradication. New Asia, which embraces AI, resists this effort. The U.S. military targets “Nirmata”, the chief architect of New Asia’s AI advancements, using the USS NOMAD, a space station with destructive capabilities.

A decade later, Sergeant Joshua Taylor, undercover in New Asia with his pregnant wife Maya (believed to be Nirmata’s daughter), is exposed and Maya is presumed dead after a NOMAD attack. Five years on, Taylor, now part of a cleanup crew, is recruited for a mission against “Alpha O”, a new weapon from Nirmata that could destroy NOMAD. He discovers Alpha O is a robotic simulant girl named “Alphie”, capable of controlling technology. Taylor seeks out his former commander, Drew, who is killed in an attack.

Taylor and Alphie are captured by New Asian forces led by Harun, who reveals that the Los Angeles detonation was a human error and that AI seeks peaceful coexistence. Taylor learns Maya is Nirmata and that Alphie is modeled after their unborn daughter. As Taylor deactivates Maya’s life support, U.S. forces attack, led by Howell. Harun reveals NOMAD must be destroyed for peace.

Taylor is forced to kill Alphie but later escapes with her, aided by Andrews. They board a lunar shuttle and infiltrate NOMAD. Taylor plants explosives but is forced to eject with Alphie. Alphie lands safely on Earth, where she is greeted by the AI as a new “Nirmata”, while Taylor and Maya die in the NOMAD explosion.
